TUNGSTEN PROPERTIES IS A PRIVATELY-OWNED PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT COMPANY.

Founded in 2005, Tungsten Properties has grown from a developer of small industrial units in the East Midlands, to a national developer with an industrial development pipeline of 4.5 million sq ft, spanning from West Yorkshire to Mid Sussex.

jeff penman

Jeff Penman

Managing Director

Jeff is responsible for driving forward the company’s property development pipeline, managing the development team, and sourcing funding.

Prior to Tungsten, Jeff started his career in 1998 at CB Hiller Parker, leaving the Business Space Agency & Development Team in 2001 to join his father’s development company At Grove Park - Leicester, thereafter, founding Tungsten in 2005.

Ian Dunckley

Development Director

Ian joined Tungsten Properties in October 2015 following 10 years as Development Director at the Ashtenne Industrial Fund.

He previously completed more than £100m worth of investments nationwide, creating over 800,000 sq ft of distribution warehousing, multi-unit industrial estates, heavy and light industry, trade parks, serviced office space, food retail and a pharmaceutical facility.

These projects have involved tenants on pre-let or pre-sale agreements where critical paths had to be met.

Clients include Baxter Healthcare, Corus, MC Wholesale, Lok’n Store.

Mark Bailey

Contracts Manager

Mark is an experienced Contracts Manager with particular experience in Roofing & Cladding.

Mark has worked for a number of cladding specialists such as Keyclad (Bowmer & Kirkland), Wedge Industrial Roofing and Torclad, working for end clients such as Sainsbury’s, ASDA & Aldi.

David Mole

Development Director

David is a qualified chartered surveyor who joined the team in November 2017. His previous roles, working firstly at Deloitte and more recently at Colliers International, mean that he brings experience across a range of markets and property sectors.

David provides the team with a roadside perspective, having had experience in the automotive, PFS, roadside retail and trade counter markets.

Past clients include Screwfix, Topps Tiles and Euro Garages.

Justin McVeigh

Associate Development Director

Justin has substantial experience in the industrial/logistics sector with previous roles in development and agency at DB Symmetry and Savills. With extensive involvement in multi let estates and large scale logistics parks, he has a strong handle on the market and a solid network base.

His focus is on managing developments through from inception to completion together with sourcing and appraising new opportunities.

Ashleigh Hayes

Associate Development Director

Ashleigh is an RICS qualified surveyor and has seven years’ development experience having worked for Prologis, JLL and BNP Paribas.

She is part of the team responsible for delivering the committed development pipeline and sourcing new opportunities.

Jenny Clarke

Associate Development Director

With 11 years’ experience, Jenny joined in September 2019 from Innes England based in Leicester where she worked for five years on behalf of private and public sector clients on all agency matters. Prior to that she worked for Salloway Property Consultants in Derby and Lambert Smith Hampton across Leicester and Nottingham.

Alex Page

Financial Controller

Alex has 12 years’ experience in controlling various businesses with a combined annual turnover of >£40 million. Alex provides assistance with project financial modelling and business cashflow.

Suzanne Steele

Executive Assistant

Suzanne is an experienced Executive Assistant who provides assistance to the whole Development team.

Suzanne has 20 years' experience as Personal/Executive Assistant in the manufacturing and automotive industry, and prior to that she was a Travel Manager in the travel & tourism industry.

Luke Davenport

Associate Development Director

Luke joined the Tungsten team in 2022 from HBD and brings a wealth of experience delivering high quality Build to Suit and speculative industrial and logistics space.

Career highlights include the successful delivery of The Quad, Butterfield Business Park in Luton, a 10-unit speculative industrial scheme which was nominated for ‘Best Overall Scheme – Multi-Let Industrial Estate’ at the 2020 IAS Awards and the successful acquisition of a Joint Venture Partnership with Southend Borough Council to deliver 52 acres of employment space through the OJEU framework. Luke has also secured over £40m of pre-let Build to Suit industrial & logistics space in Luton since 2020.

In addition to industrial & logistics development, Luke played a significant role in the timely disposal of The Mall Shopping Centre in Bromley, a retail led mixed-use investment in Q4 2019 and has delivered and disposed of two inner M25 hotels with pre-lets in place to Travelodge.

STRATEGIC TARGETS

Reduce the carbon emissions in our buildings by 50% by 2030 relative to a 2012 baseline

Ensure all new construction meets an EPC rating of A

All timber used on construction projects is documented as ‘Legally sourced and sustainable’ as per the UK Government Central Point of Expertise on Timber (CPET)

Primary construction materials will only be sourced from manufacturers that operate within a Recognised Responsible Sourcing Certification Scheme (RSCS)

Reduce water consumption in our buildings by greater than 25% of the current regulatory guidance

All appointed main contractors will operate within a recognised Environmental Management System (EMS)

NET ZERO CARBON

Across 2021 and 2022, Tungsten Properties will deliver over 1.3million Sq Ft of net zero carbon industrial development. In achieving this, a wide array of off-site contributions have been made from the Gunung Sala Geothermal Energy Project to the Heqing Solar Cooker Project and tree planting in both UK and Kenya.
